ARTICLES OF EHPBA - SUMMARY
Name and Foundation
EHPBA is a European-Middle East and African Association of members focussing on HPB diseases, which also serves as the Regional Chapter of the IHPBA. The European Chapter was formally inaugurated at its first general Assembly in May 1999 in Budapest, Hungary. The EHPBA was inaugurated in May 2003 in Istanbul / Turkey. It consists of the former European Chapter and National Chapters from Africa.
Dues
Annual dues are required to be paid by Active Members to maintain their membership and support the activities of the Association. Any member who fails to pay the subscription for two consecutive years after two reminders from the Secretary Treasurer will be deemed to have resigned from the Association.
Officers
EHPBA has the following officers: president, president-elect, secretary-treasurer, members-at-large. Election of officers shall take place at the Business Meeting during the biennial Meeting. A majority of votes cast shall constitute election.
Executive Council(governing body of the Association)
Consists of the president, past president, president-elect, secretary-treasurer and seven members-at-large.
Committees
The EHPBA has the following committees: Nominating Committees, Scientific Committee, Research and Education Committee, Membership Committee and the Auditing Committee.
Meetings
A biennial meeting is held in late May or early June of the odd years. At the General Assembly during the biennial meeting of the members of the association the decision will be made regarding the site of the next meetings.
Amendments
Constitution and bylaws may be altered, amended or replaced at any biennial meeting on the recommendation of the Executive Council.
